About EBRD

The EBRD in 2014 launched the Tajikistan Climate Resilience Financing Facility in order to pilot a mechanism for making climate resilience technologies accessible and affordable to the Tajik private sector (specifically businesses, farmers and households).

In the framework of EBRD project FIST in the capacity of a Consultant assisted Turkey Company Montgomery Watson Harza Mühendislikve Müşavirlik Limited Şirketi (MWH) that entered into a Service Subcontract with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (FSFM) who has a Service Contract with EBRD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development- for the provision of technical assistance and services for the project for a period of 6 months from the commencement date thereof.

FIST supported MWH in accomplishing the tasks delegated to MWH according to the reasonable schedule required by the MWH Project Manager in line with the Main Schedule of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in the Main Contract.

FIST as a Consultant carried out the following activities:

  • Communicate with available suppliers, associations, institutions, governmental bodies, NGOs etc as applicable to perform qualitative market search and to define minimum performance parameters

  • Conduct Qualitative Market research for each identified technology for residential, industry and agribusiness sectors

  • Define minimum performance parameters for each identified technology for residential, industry and agribusiness sectors

  • Develop methodology for calculating energy savings and GHG emission reductions

  • Develop Climate resilience audit methodology (in partnership with Climate Change Experts)

  • Provide engineering inputs with regard to the initial design of Facility framework, training plan and loan products

  • Make initial preparation of all related manuals, procedures, forms related to the audit methodology for climate resilience technologies for energy, water and sustainable land mana and roadshows

  • Conduct energy audits and validation of renewable energy resources

  • Assess sustainable energy project investment plans including risk assessment and mitigation strategy incl. if needed energy audits and validation of renewable energy resources

  • Provide inputs and updates to the List of Eligible Materials and Equipment and List of Eligible Installers and Suppliers (LEME/LESI) upon the addition of new technologies
